I made a wonderful career change almost 25 years ago. NIKKEN!

Building this business has been a wonderful blessing for our family. We've had some amazing adventures, and with the advent of Nikken 2.0 I am certain the best is yet to come!

When I first joined Nikken, I would picture myself in the future, as a leader having a vast empire. "Vast Empire" is a phrase that stirs my soul, and it was actually part of my daily affirmations.

It is a wonderful thing to just go for it flat out and do all that you can do, and to discover what you're really capable of.  Whatever you decide to do with your life, I hope you decide to be wholehearted about it. Please don't live life small.  Become absolutely enthralled about something. Be anxiously engaged in a good cause!  Be on fire with it.

Kaizen is a wonderful Japanese word that describes the philosophy of continuous and never-ending improvement. I am thrilled that Nikken is creating an elite new position of leadership based upon this idea called TEAM KAIZEN.

If you choose Nikken for your career, then all of the qualifications for becoming a member of Team Kaizen are also an excellent guide for building a strong and profitable business.

Go to work, it's important to be active in your business every day.

Begin by committing to be a Quality Enrollee.  A Quality Enrollee has a personal volume of at least 500 points a month. This is volume that includes personal consumption and a few retail customers. We recommend creating this with consumable products through autoship orders.

Find three good people who want to do Nikken as a career. Teach them to become Quality Enrollees. "Teach three to reach three."  Teach them to do the same, and so on.

The Team Kaizen position is now open to everyone! To qualify, you will want to maintain a personal volume of at least 500 points, enroll three others who also maintain at least 500 PV, become a Silver, and help two or more first level people become Silvers by the end of September. 

“What kind of world would this world be if everyone were just like me?” Apply this idea to Nikken; what kind of business would my business be if everyone in it were just like me? Always do something that’s worth duplicating. Remember, the speed of the group is determined by the speed of the leader. Be worthy of Kaizen!

Dave Johnson Shares His Thoughts on the New Nikken HQ

Network marketing is often described as a fantastic personal development program that's disguised as a business opportunity.  This idea could especially describe Nikken's signature personal development course, Humans Being More!

Dennis Estes suggested that top leaders gather together and have their own class, right inside our new home office. The participants had to be personally approved by President Kurt Fulle.

I was honored to attend this elite Humans Being More course. I had the feeling I was participating in a sort of spiritual dedication for this new building and inaugurating an exciting new era.  This is Nikken's fourth US corporate office.  Tom Watanabe described our new building as "Chapter 4" in our continuing story. I invite you to help us write this story. Together we can make this the best chapter yet!

Our old building is an icon that can take your breath away (I'm sure that Hollywood won't be asking to use our new building to make movies!).  Much of the previous building is a vast open expanse with 50-foot ceilings.  Your footsteps echo when walking on the polished granite floor.  This place is over-the-top awe-inspiring.

Yet, how would you like to live there every day?  Kurt described it as working at a mausoleum, shrine, or monument. It is certainly impressive and elaborate, but just a little cold and isolated.

 I was visiting with Kurt on the phone today and told him about Jane, the first person I met at the office.  When I introduced myself to Jane, she said she knew me and that she had been with Nikken for 18 years. Kurt told me he didn't know her either prior to the move!  I was actually surprised to see so many people. I didn't realize Nikken had such a large staff!

I love the new building, especially because all the people who work at Nikken love their new building. Moving here has really stirred their passion. Everyone is happy and smiling and it feels warm and good.  When people actually see each other it’s much easier to corroborate.

Our new facility is in a beautiful business community only five minutes from John Wayne airport. We had lunch a short walking distance from headquarters in an area filled with a large variety of nice restaurants.  All around us were smart and very talented people giving a feeling of vibrancy and growth.  Everything is alive and on the move.

Nikken is open to repeating this once or twice a year and I heartily recommend you come and participate in your own new "commencement and rededication ceremony" of LEADERS BEING MORE!

Around 100 years ago, Charles Schwab was the president of president of Bethlehem Steel. Ivy Lee, a well-known efficiency expert of the time, approached Mr. Schwab, and made this proposition to Mr. Schwab:

Ivy Lee: "I can increase your people's efficiency – and your sales – if you will allow me to spend fifteen minutes with each of your executives."

Charles Schwab: "How much will it cost me?"

Ivy Lee: "Nothing, unless it works. After three months, you can send me a check for whatever you feel it's worth to you."

Charles Schwab: "It's a deal."

The following day, Ivy Lee met with Charles Schwab's management executives, spending only ten minutes. He told each of them the same thing:

Ivy Lee: "I want you to promise me that for the next ninety days, before leaving your office at the end of the day, you will make a list of the six most important things you have to do the next day and number them in their order of importance."

Astonished Executives: "That's  it?"

Ivy Lee: "That's it. Scratch off each item after finishing it, and go on to the next one on your list. If something doesn't get done, place it on the following day's list."

"Each executive consented to follow Lee's instructions. Three months later, Schwab studied the results and was so pleased that he sent Lee a check for $35,000. (At this time the average workers income in the US was $2 per day!)

If Schwab, who was one of the smartest businessmen of his day, was willing to pay so much for this one idea, how much could this same advice be worth to you?

Each night, put together your own list for the following day. If you don't accomplish an action item on your list, move it to next day's list. I put the hardest or most unappealing task at the top of the list. This way, I tackle the most difficult item first, and once it's out of the way, I feel my day is off to a good start."
